So I was complaining that my points range was so low. Wah, wah. Not enough to eat. I’m gonna starve. And yesterday I was four points under. FOUR. And one of them I ate at 10 o’clock at night. What a whiner.
LOL! I’ve been following the weight watchers plan with my wife for the last week in a half and I am about 6 tenths of a pound away from dropping in points. I’m scared to death!
On the older points system, when I dropped to 18 as the lower range, I thought I’d die! Something about having a one as the first digit… And it felt like, “Great job! You’ve lost more weight! As a reward, you get to eat LESS!” But that goes back to the attitude of living to eat versus eating to live, I guess.
So are you secretly wishing you lose .5 pounds so you get one more week in the higher point range?
“So are you secretly wishing you lose .5 pounds so you get one more week in the higher point range?”
Well … I cheated and weighed myself early this week just to see where I was and I am already below the weight needed to drop my points. So unless I mess up and gain weight later in the week, I’m already screwed!
BTW, I am using your weight tracker spreadsheet and find it very useful. Thanks!
LOL! Okay, since you weren’t supposed to weigh in, you don’t really KNOW you’re already below so you shouldn’t drop your points yet. Oh the mind games! Don’t listen to me! Well, you can because truly it wouldn’t hurt. But don’t blow it! Yay you for another .6+ loss!
I had to LOL when you said that you’re a whiner, and that you’re going to starve…not enough to eat! That sounded just like me 3 weeks ago!! I’m not doing WW points or anything. I just decided to lose weight/get fit by watching calories and exercising. I decided it was time to stop blaming my weight gain on middle-age, and admit it was ice-cream and twizzlers, etc. and not moving enough. I may be a grandmother, but I’m a young one…just hit 50. So when I went to the doctor’s for a check up and got a clean bill of health (even my cholesterol is still good amazingly), I told the doctor that I was putting myself on a diet and exercise program. I already knew that one should never go below 1200 calories a day. I thought 1200 calories didn’t sound like much to eat….well maybe a lot of salad. However, I was determined to get off to a great start so I decided to try and stay within 1200-1400 calories a day. The first few days of my diet, I was whining too. I found myself thinking “I’m gonna starveâ€, Is this even worth it!†Plus drinking lots of water….not easy for me. However, amazingly I’ve found that once I got used to eating less….I’m not really hungry……I’m not starving!!!
However, you would think being on a diet would save you money not buying all the goodies, etc. Not true!! I may be cooking for my husband, and my kids, and grandchildren, but for myself I’ve been eating those WW and Lean Cuisine dinners. It just makes it easier for me to figure out the calories I’m eating. All I have to do is add some fiber…bread and cereal, some fruit, veges, and salads. So, here I am buying all these dinners, plus those 100 cal snacks, plus low cal salad dressings, and Crystal Light, etc. At least I didn’t have to spend any money joining a gym because I have my treadmill which I’ve been using every day – 30 minutes every night without fail. Thank goodness for that treadmill, because I live in NEW JERSEY, Anna. I think I read on your family website that you had to fly to NEW JERSEY on your way to PR this summer. (I’m jealous, by the way Anna, cause we lived in PR for a few years and I definitely did not want to come back to NJ after living there…but my husband’s work dictated that we had too!) Anyway, it’s been hot here…..100 degrees in the shade today! Way to hot to being doing any walking outside.
Bottom line…….I’m not whining anymore. 3 1/2 weeks into my diet and I’ve lost 11 pounds! But the really amazing thing is not just the weight, but the inches I’ve lost. Over 10 inches already! Woo Hoo! Hang in there Anna, and everybody else. I still have atleast 20-30 pounds I want to lose, but I’m feeling skinny already!!
I asked my wife if I should drop my points early since I weighed in early. She told me I didn’t have to! That was the answer I was hoping for!
Yeah, but you know it’s coming! So keep asking yourself, “can I go without this 1 point item?” and “what if I took a good ten minute jog…?” You’re about to lose those points, Gobie! Congrats!
